The City of Fountain Valley received a grant from the State of California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). The purpose of the grant is to promote markets for Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) products with crumb rubber derived from only California-generated waste tires.

The Grant used RAC on the recent Rehabilitation and Resurfacing of Ellis Avenue and Warner Avenue (from Brookhurst Street to Bushard Street) Project completed in September 2024.

This project was funded by a Grant from CalRecycle.

Number of Waste Tires Diverted from the Waste Stream Due to this Project: 11,173 Tires, or Passenger Tire Equivalent Tires (PTEs).
