YOU ARE NOT ALONE PROGRAM (YANA)

You Are Not Alone Program (YANA) is an outreach program provided by the Fountain Valley Police Department specifically intended for seniors who live alone and would benefit from a daily check on their welfare.  YANA is designed to provide a measure of security and well-being  to help senior residents feel safer while continuing to live independently.  Members of the Fountain Valley Police Department's Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) make daily phone calls or visits to each of the YANA members.

From Monday through Friday, a volunteer makes a phone call to the YANA member each morning, maintaining a daily log to confirm contact and note any special requests.   If a YANA member does not answer their scheduled call, the volunteer will attempt to reconnect multiple times. Should there be no response, the volunteer will then alert Dispatch, prompting an officer to conduct a welfare check at the residence.

To enroll as a YANA member, a senior must complete a short request form and waiver, have an emergency contact person, and be willing to respond to phones calls and/or weekly home visits.  YANA REQUEST FORM    YANA WAIVER
