Before applying for a SolarAPP+ automated solar plan review, projects must follow certain requirements outlined in the Eligibility Checklist. Only projects that conform to this list are eligible to use the automated SolarAPP+ portal for instant permitting. |
Apply for a SolarAPP+ solar permit
- Create an account and login to the Fountain Valley Permit Center.
- Select “+ New Application” and begin filling out the application
- Select “SolarAPP+” for the Project Type.
- Enter the applicable Owner, Applicant and Contractor information.
- Enter the SolarAPP+ ID in the field provided.
- Upload the SolarAPP+ Checklist to the documents area.
- Review your application.
- Pay the required permit fee.
- Digitally sign the permit when you receive an email request to do so.
Inspection requests for SolarAPP+ projects can be scheduled just like any other permit:
- Log into the Fountain Valley Permit Center.
- Click the “Project” button
- Click on the SolarAPP+ permit in your Projects list
- Scroll down and click the blue “Request Inspection” button.
- Fill out the required fields and click the blue “Submit” button.
- Please print a copy of the approved SolarAPP+ Checklist, and any other related documents, and have on site for the inspection.
- To cancel an inspection, please call the Building Division at (714) 593-4429.
Any revisions to a SolarAPP+ permitted project, must first go back through SolarAPP+ approval process on SolarAPP+ webpage. Once a revised Checklist is obtained, along with revised SolarAPP+ ID, the Contractor can then schedule an inspection.
- SolarAPP+ will email the revised checklist to the city for review. Any modifications to the scope of work will be reflected in the city records, and the applicant will be notified should any additional fees be assessed.
