Residential Trash Rate
The City of Fountain Valley contracts with Republic Services to provide weekly cart service to residential customers. Residential customers are billed for this service on their bimonthly water bills.
Senior Discount Trash Rate
Fountain Valley residents age 62* and older are eligible for the senior discount trash rate. The senior discount trash rate provides a 10% reduction in the Waste Disposal portion of the monthly trash bill, which is a savings of $2.50 a month. To apply for the senior discount trash rate, simply stop by City Hall at 10200 Slater Avenue with a valid California driver's license or ID with the address of the service account. *At the November 15, 2016, City Council meeting, the City Council unanimously voted to lower the senior discount age from 65 to 62 and lower the monthly senior discount trash rate to provide greater savings and make the savings available to more residents.
The residential trash rates have been increased effective January 18, 2023.
