[ARCHIVED] FVPD Press Release - Home Invasion Robbery Arrest

When the victim opened the door, the suspect forced his way into the residence. Once inside, the suspect threatened to kill the victim and physically assaulted him. The suspect stole property from the residence and fled in a silver vehicle. There was no weapon seen and the suspect was described as a male Asian. The victim suffered a small laceration to his lip but did not desire medical attention.


During the investigation, Officers determined the suspect was possibly involved in two home invasion robberies in Westminster. Westminster Police Department identified their suspect as Danh Dao, a 42 year old male Asian from Fountain Valley. Our victim identified Dao as the suspect in the home invasion robbery on Sandstone. Dao was known to drive a silver Mazda 3 hatchback and his vehicle was located at a Motel 6 in Costa Mesa by FVPD Officers.


WPD and FVPD Officers established surveillance on the vehicle and detained Dao as he left his room. Dao was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on robbery and assault charges.
