The City of Fountain Valley is committed to making every drop count when it comes to water. That’s why the City has partnered with the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) to conduct a comprehensive acoustic survey of the City’s 217-mile water distribution system to identify unreported leaks. MWDOC’s five-member leak detection team will start the project on October 23, 2023, and will continue for approximately 12-13 weeks through January 26, 2024. All team members will drive MWDOC vehicles and wear uniforms so they can be easily identified by residents as they work their way through the City listening for leaks with specialized equipment.
