On August 8, 2017, at
approximately 1:17 a.m., Fountain Valley Police Officers conducted a traffic
enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Filbert Street and Dandelion
Avenue. As Officers were conducting their investigation, the driver, who was
identified as Hoang Le (36) from Santa Ana, attempted to flee while he was
seated on a curb. Le tripped as he was attempting to flee and was handcuffed by
Officers. The passenger in the vehicle, who was identified as Ricardo Sanchez
(31) from Orange, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a search of
the suspect vehicle, Officers located a stolen license plate and a loaded
firearm. Le was arrested for Driving Under
the Influence, Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting a Peace Officer, and
Possession of a Concealed Loaded Un-registered Firearm. Sanchez was arrested
for the outstanding warrant and providing a false name. Incident #: 17-30176
