On January 7, 2017, at approximately 1:36 a.m., Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to the 9000 block of Shimizu River Circle in reference to a subject walking up to the front door of residences and approaching vehicles in the area. Investigation revealed that the suspect entered an unlocked and occupied residence, entered the victim’s bedroom and stood over the victim’s bed. The victim woke up and directed the suspect to leave, at which time the suspect fled. The suspect injured himself jumping over a wall and was then detained by Police. The suspect, Joel Horton (37), a transient from Huntington Beach, was arrested on the street behind the victim’s house.
