The Drug Enforcement Agency, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, conducts National Prescription Drug Take Back Days. The City of Fountain Valley participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 22, 2016; 323 pounds of prescription medication were dropped off at the Fountain Valley Police Department.
The purpose of this Take Back Day is to provide a venue for persons to anonymously dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs safely and, at the same time, remove potentially dangerous prescription medications, particularly controlled substances, from our nation’s medicine cabinets.
