[ARCHIVED] Deadly Citrus Tree Disease

HLB also referred to as the Citrus Greening disease poses no threat to humans but, it is fatal to the citrus trees that many of us have in our backyards.  The disease is spread by a pest called the Asian citrus psyllid as it feeds on citrus tree leaves. The Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Program (CPDPP) is continuing to ask all California residents – 60 percent of whom own citrus trees – to protect California citrus and their backyard citrus trees by searching for signs of HLB and the pest that can carry and spread HLB.
