[ARCHIVED] Fountain Valley Police Department Press Release


On Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 12:20p.m., Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to Costco located at 17900 Newhope regarding a suspect who was attempting to return stolen merchandise. The Officer arrived on scene and detained suspect Mishler as he was attempting to flee the business. Mishler immediately became combative and attempted to pull away from the Officer. During the struggle the Officer sustained an injury to his shoulder incapacitating one of his arms. The Officer and a civilian loss prevention employee were able to gain control of Mishler and he was taken into custody. The Officer was treated at a local hospital for his injuries.

Suspect Mishler was booked at the Orange County Jail for felony resisting arrest with an injury to a police officer, shoplifting, and two outstanding warrants.
