This November, in celebration of National Veterans and Military Families Month, OC Aniaml Care is proud to spotlight a heartwarming initiative that honors our veterans and gives shelter pets a second chance at love.
Thanks to California Senate Bill 245, the “Pets for Vets Act”, U.S. military veterans can adopt a dog or cat at no cost from participating shelters, including OC Animal Care. This program not only recognizes the sacrifices of our service members but also promotes healing and connection through the unconditional love of a companion animal.
Here’s how it works:
- Veterans simply present a California ID or Driver License with the “VETERAN” designation.
- One free adoption every six months.
- All standard adoption fees are waived.
Let’s help spread the word! If you know a veteran who could benefit from the companionship of a furry friend, encourage them to visit OC Animal Care.
Together, we can support those who’ve served and give shelter pets the loving homes they deserve. For more information, visit HERE.
