A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 20 to celebrate the completion of the City’s first affordable housing complex in almost two decades. Prado Family Homes, located on Harbor Blvd, is a 50- unit complex with reduced rents that make the new, high-end apartments affordable to both extremely low and low-income renters.

CEO of Related California, Bill Witte, served as Master of Ceremonies and Mayor Patrick Harper, OC Supervisor Andrew Do, and Prado resident Robert Hill all gave moving speeches addressing the need for affordable housing in the region and the success of the project. Related California hosted the program which included live music, a coffee bar, light refreshments and tours of the development. The project is an excellent example of a public-private partnership to develop much-needed affordable housing for the benefit of the community.
