At its Tuesday, June 7 City Council meeting, the Fountain Valley City Council voted unanimously to appoint Maggie Le as the City’s next City Manager. Ms. Le transitioned to the role of City Manager on June 11, 2022, from her current position as Deputy City Manager. The City Manager serves as the executive leader of the organization, assisting the City Council in delivering their policy directives and managing the day-to-day operations of the city government.
Ms. Le has been with the City of Fountain Valley as the Deputy City Manager in Fountain Valley and is instrumental in working with the citizens and business communities and has primarily focused on economic development since she joined the organization in December 2015. She is well respected by her peers and colleagues. She has over 20 years of experience working in local government with over 6 years of management-level experience. She has worked for the cities of Santa Ana, Brea, Buena Park, Placentia, Chino and Fountain Valley. Ms. Le has extensive experience working on sensitive special projects, economic development projects, human resources duties, negotiations, community outreach, information technology duties, strategic planning, budget, land use, and engineering. Ms. Le graduated from Los Amigos High School in 1996 and holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
As the new City Manager, Ms. Le promises to lead with integrity, provide strong leadership and a clear vision, be consistent with meaningful communication, give recognition and praise, foster a positive work culture, embrace challenges, and value and support staff. Ms. Le is excited to continue to serve the Fountain Valley community.
Ms. Le is heavily involved in professional organizations such as International City/County Management Association, serving on the Cal-ICMA Talent Initiative committee; Municipal Management Association of Southern California, serving on the Board of Directors in 2014 and Co-Chair Mentorship Program in 2016 and 2017; and is actively involved in the Orange County City Managers Association as a member of the Profession Committee.
Ms. Le is married to her high school sweetheart from Los Amigos High School with two daughters who currently attend schools in the Fountain Valley School District. She and her family love to travel, go camping, and stay busy with soccer activities.
