City Manager Rob Houston's Departure on March 11, 2022

City Manager Rob Houston has received an offer from the City of Orange to become their new City Manager. The Orange City Council will be voting on his contract on March 8. If they approve the contract, Rob’s last day with the City of Fountain Valley will be March 11, 2022. The City Council has hired Bob Hall & Associates to assist the City in finding the next permanent City Manager to lead the organization and move the community forward. The City Council will also hire an Interim City Manager in the near future to keep the operations moving while the City Manager recruitment is underway.

Rob Houston joined the City of Fountain Valley in July 2017 and led the organization with the upgrade of the Fountain Valley Recreation Center, encouraging redevelopment at Brookhurst/Garfield and Brookhurst/Heil, budgets, capital improvement projects and solving homelessness encampment issues in the Santa Ana River Trail.
