The City has recently created a new application for Small Format Restaurants. Proposed restaurants, cafes, or other similar uses with fifty seats or less will no longer have to go through the standard Conditional Use Permit process, given they meet preapproved conditions of approval, saving applicants time and money. To qualify for the Small Format Restaurant permit, applicants must submit an application with the Planning Department for review. Once approved, they can submit their building plans for review. Once approved, Planning will sign off on their final application. Chop Stop located at 18515 Brookhurst street was our first applicant to submit and receive Planning approval.
