We are excited to welcome Carrie Hanes as our new Human Resources Director! Carrie Hanes has been employed at the City of Santa Ana as a Human Resources Manager for over 4 ½ years. Carrie previously worked for the City of Lake Elsinore for over 9 years and City of Garden Grove for a total of 10 ½ years. Having worked mostly in city government in the Human Resources and Finance Departments, she is experienced in all areas of human resources including employee relations, recruitment, benefits, classification and compensation, training and development, performance management, workers compensation, safety, risk management and in Finance with over 20 years in government payroll, with specific strengths in CalPERS retirement, benefits administration, Federal and State Employment, and Wage and Hour Laws. Carrie holds her degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and holds a Senior Certified Professional Certification from the International Public Management Association for Human Resources, a Labor Relations Certification from Liebert, Cassidy, & Whitmore, a Human Resources Management Certification from Employers’ Group, and attended the CALPELRA Labor Relations Academy. Carrie grew up in the area and attended La Quinta High School in Westminster. Carrie is looking forward to serving the City of Fountain Valley, and providing her expertise as the Human Resources Director.
