Bill McQuaid Promotion

Bill McQuaid

It is with great honor and excitement that Fire Department announce the promotion of Bill McQuaid to the rank of Division Chief. Chief McQuaid is a 25-year veteran of our department and has held every rank beginning as a Reserve Firefighter and progressing to the position as Battalion Chief, where he has served for the last seven years. Chief McQuaid is a Strike Team Leader, manager of our budget, manager of our ambulance program, and has long term experience in radios, tech and USAR instruction at Central Net and North Net Training Centers.

Additionally, Chief McQuaid authored our first OES operational manual, managed the apparatus program, and has served as the leader of quality apparatus build committees. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and is currently finishing up his Master’s Degree.  A fitting resume for an individual that is now “Second in Command” of the Fountain Valley Fire Department.  Chief McQuaid will continue his assignments as the C Shift Commander and Chief of Operations.

Chief McQuaid will ensure that department activities, equipment, training, operations and collaboration with other agencies throughout the county align with the mission, goals and objectives of our department at the automatic, mutual, and master mutual aid level.  Additionally, he holds the authority of the Fire Chief when directed.

Please help us to congratulate Division Chief Bill McQuaid on his well-deserved promotion!
