In January 2021, County of Orange Second Supervisorial District allocated $125,000 to the City of Fountain Valley to support businesses within the district impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. City Council directed City staff to provide up to $5,000 grant for eligible businesses and provide priority to businesses that have been closed due to the State Stay-at-Home orders. The City opened and accepted applications for the SBER Grant Program in February 2021. A lottery system was used to prioritize applications.
The program will provide a $5,000 grant small businesses needing financial assistance in overcoming the temporary loss of revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is based on the availability of funds, program guidelines and submission of all required information and supporting documentation with priority for those businesses that are/were closed due to the State orders. The grant may be used for working capital to cover the day-to-day business operating expenses, or other similar expenses that occur in the ordinary course of operations.
