Fountain Valley Police Department Says Goodbye to Two Long Time Civilian Employees!

Posted on October 27, 2020 at 9:00 AM by Maggie Le

Diane - PD
Diane began her career in July of 1999 and has worked for the Fountain Valley Police Department for 21 years. She was a Records Lead for 18 of those years. In 2015, she received the Support Services Employee of the Year Award. Diane has three children and three grandchildren. She loves to travel, especially to Italy, and she looks forward to travelling there soon. In retirement, she is planning to enjoy quality time with her family and friends. Diane has been a staple to Fountain Valley PD over the years, and she will leave behind some big shoes to fill. Her FVPD family will miss her sorely.

Janice - PD

Janice started her FVPD career in January of 1992 as a part-time Police Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher, she consoled suicidal subjects more than a few times and helped numerous victims in times of despair. Janice identified her time as a Dispatcher as both frustrating and rewarding. In 1996, Janice transitioned to a full-time Court Liaison (Community Services Officer) while continuing to work as a Dispatcher as needed. Janice has always worked closely with the FVPD Detective Bureau as well as the District Attorneys assigned to the West Justice Center (Westminster) and others throughout the County. She transitioned from VHS to DVD, from Polaroid to Digital, and from pagers to cell phones. She has enjoyed many laughs and endured lots of sadness.  She was one of our most tenured employees. During Janice’s career, she raised two beautiful children, worked alongside 5 Chief’s and too many Officers to mention. She has earned her promotion to this next chapter with her greatest title yet, “Grandma Jan”. She leaves this profession after 28.5 years with her head held high, having served the City of Fountain Valley with distinction. Janice will definitely be missed by her FVPD family. We wish her health, happiness, and success in all of her future endeavors.
