The Completion of the Rehabilitation of Newhope Street from Talbert Avenue to Warner Avenue

Rehabilitation of Newhope Street from Talbert Avenue to Warner Avenue, Project TI274 began in July 2019 and was completed on October 4, 2019. Over a mile segment was resurfaced and 17 driveway approaches were reconstructed to meet ADA standards.

In addition, the City reconstructed 8 curb ramps to meet ADA standards and added a left turn pocket into United Sports Brands. Prior to this, the median blocked the entrance from the northbound direction. In addition, new landscape and irrigation systems were added at two Newhope medians.

The City of Fountain Valley received a grant from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to utilize recycled rubber tires to complete this project. Over 14,565 tires were used for this project, saving those tires from going to landfills as waste.
