Fountain Valley is updating its General Plan, which guides the long-term growth and development of the community. The citizen's committee is leading this effort, know as the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC), conducted their third meeting on July 17, 2019.
.
At this meeting, the GPAC reviewed a draft vision statement, which describes the desired character of Fountain Valley in 20 years.
The GPAC also received an overview on the State’s on-going affordable housing allocation process, called the Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA). Using theoretical allocations of affordable housing that Fountain Valley could be required to accommodate, the GPAC examined potential scenarios that distributed the housing allotment to potential sites throughout the City. These scenarios will prepare the GPAC for deliberations on the development of the land use map, which is expected to occur in late 2019 or early 2020 after the draft RHNA allocations are released by the State.
