irs phone scam

Tax season is here and now is the time to increase awareness as it relates to IRS tax scams. Don't be a victim of an IRS phone scam. THE IRS WILL NOT CALL YOU. These scam artists target the elderly as well as immigrants in hopes of scaring them with the threat of being arrested for not paying their taxes. They will try to set up an immediate payment following the threat.

Protect your personal information: do not give out your personal information over the phone.
