Fountain Valley Police Department in conjunction with other city departments, participate in Emergency Operation Center drills so that we are well prepared as a city, should we undergo a catastrophic emergency. In the event of a real catastrophic emergency, we would like our community to be informed as soon as information becomes available. We encourage those who live or work in Orange County to sign up with AlertOC by texting the word ALERTOC to 888777 to receive Orange County emergency alerts. 

Preparedness for a natural disaster or any catastrophic emergency is essential. We never know when either of the two is set to occur yet, taking the time to prepare a survival kit for your household is one of the best ways to prepare. Below you will find a list of some survival kit essentials:

                                                      SURVIVAL KIT ESSENTIALS

3- Day supply of non-perishable food and water (per person)
3- Day supply of food and water for pet(s)
Flashlight and spare batteries
First aid kit(s)
Rain Gear
Water pumps and sandbags
List of friends, family, and neighbors who are alone, aged or any individuals who stated that they might be in need of assistance during an emergency.
