On January 6, 2017, the City of Fountain Valley circulated for public review a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act for the Fountain Valley Crossings Specific Plan Project. The City held a Public Hearing for the draft EIR before the City Council and Planning Commission on January 25, 2017. The meeting presented the identified environmental impacts and provided the general public with opportunity to comment on the draft EIR.
The purpose of the Fountain Valley Crossings Specific Plan is to provide a new vision and zoning for the approximate 155-acres of light industrial/commercial uses in the southeastern portion of the City of Fountain Valley to act as a guide for future development. The Project area is roughly bounded by Ward Street to the west, Talbert Avenue to the north, the Santa Ana River to the east, Ellis Avenue to the south, and is bisected by the Interstate 405 (I-405) freeway, which runs diagonally northwest to southeast through the Project area.
There is a 45-day review and comment period for the Draft EIR extending from January 6, 2017 through February 20, 2017 at 5 p.m.
