The City of Fountain Valley Recreation & Community Services Department would like to thank the residents and surrounding community for making the 2018 summer such a fantastic success!

The department’s mission statement reads; “The Recreation and Community Services Department, in collaboration with our community partners, enriches lives by providing quality programs, human services and recreational opportunities that create positive and memorable experiences”… and the highlights below outline these awesome experiences from the past summer!

  • Completion of the Recreation Center Rehabilitation Project with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Vo!
  • Summerfest w/ Fireworks! – Kick off to the summer with an amazing fireworks show...thanks for all of those who joined the fun.
  • Summer Concerts…Just amazing, thousands of attendees at every concert!!
  • Summer Camps and Classes – Huge enrollment in education and social programs for all ages…building the community!
  • Summer Aquatics – Complete American Red Cross swim program to educate and engage water safety in our community.
  • Great Fountain Valley Camp Out – Sold out and so much fun! A great way to go camping in an urban environment.
  • National Night Out & Movies in the Park – Every Friday in August.
  • Sport Park/PGF -  The FV Sports Park played host to one of the nation’s largest Girls Fast Pitch tournaments!!
  • Senior Expo – Thank you to all the sponsors and business that reached out to support the senior community.
  • Pickleball – Celebrated the addition of pickleball in July to the FV Tennis Center!
  • Senior Luncheons…two words, SOLD OUT…toughest ticket in town!!

With an amazing team of staff members and an engaged and enthusiastic community, the summer of 2018 showed what “A Nice Place to Live” motto is all about.  Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
