Fire Stair Climb

Four Fountain Valley firefighters will participate in this year’s Scott Firefighter Stair Climb, which raises funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. More than 1,000 firefighters climb 69 flights of stairs in the Columbia Center building in downtown Seattle, dressed in full gear to generate support for charity.

The Fountain Valley team participating in this year’s March 12, 2017 competition are firefighters Alexander Gledhill, Adolfo Velasco, and Brent Waterworth. The fourth entrant, Gordon Cromwell sustained an injury that prohibits him from participating in the Stair Climb, but he will attend and support the other three Fountain Valley Firefighters.

They will ambitiously run up 1,300 steps, climbing approximately 788 feet of vertical elevation. The FVFD team has currently accomplished 53% of their $8,000 fundraising goal. Every tax deductible donation helps in the fight against blood cancers.
